NMWIF Board Elections

Monday, February 12th is the deadline for Candidates interested in serving on the NMWIF Board of Directors. You must be a woman Professional level or Corporate member with a history of having worked closely with the organization during your membership as a volunteer, mentor or committee member. Board members serve a two-year term and are required to attend monthly Board meetings and serve on committees that support the mission of NMWIF. The monthly commitment averages 6-8 hours. If interested, please submit your name and a brief history of your involvement with NMWIF by the 12th to: Ballots will be sent out to Professional level and Corporate members by Friday the 16th with voting closing on Friday, February 23. The term for new Board members will begin on March 1st.

Please join NMWIF on Thursday, February 8 at 3:00 at the Jean Cocteau Cinema for a screening of two documentaries by Jennifer Seibel Newsom, Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In as part of the Santa Fe Film Festival. Free for NMWIF members if you present your member card!

NMWIF Panel: "Turning The Tide on Sexual Harassment – A Path Forward”

In addition, NMWIF will be hosting a panel on Film and TV Day for the legislature on Monday, February 12th. It’s “Turning The Tide on Sexual Harassment – A Path Forward” featuring women’s advocacy consultant, Giovanna Rossi Presley, Las Cruces Rep., Nathan Small, NM Girls Make Movies, Jocelyn Jansons, Wiz Allred, and NM Secretary of State, Maggie Toulouse Oliver all talking about constructive actions that can be taken to turn around a toxic culture and build a future that is safe and fair for all people in New Mexico. We are honored to have such an illustrious panel sharing with us their ideas of a productive path forward. We expect to see you all at Film and TV Day and the Roundhouse from 8:30 to 3:00 and then we hope you’ll join us at The CCA at 3:00 on Monday, February 12th for this wonderful discussion.
