RETURN is a story of hope and action lighting a path to health for all Americans. The film follows six courageous women from tribes across the continent reconnecting with the earth by harvesting, preparing, and celebrating their food. Following the footsteps of their ancestors, these Native American women regain sovereignty over what they eat, empowering others to do the same. As lead character Roxanne Swentzell says, “Show them that you’re not gone yet. Make it be a food revolution.”
The dinner celebrating RETURN’S premiere is THE STRENGTH OF SISTERS featuring foods predating the Spanish Conquest. Imagine eating as Pueblo people did before Columbus “discovered" America! Chef Ray Naranjo from Santa Clara Pueblo is preparing a not-to-be missed meal featuring the three sisters - corn, beans, and squash - as well as locally sourced plants and wildlife.
