Outreach
NMWIF was a hit at the Santa Fe High School Career Day. By introducing the youth to our industry, we not only present an array of careers, we build support in our community and our audience.
NMWIF members have spoken at numerous colleges around the State, sharing their knowledge and experience with up-and-coming students.
NMWIF members have worked with Los Alamos women at risk, teaching presentation skills and helping to boost their self-esteem.
NMWIF has assisted with scholarships for the Girls Film School. For two weeks of summer, 20 high school girls take workshops in writing, producing, acting, editing, sound, cinematography, documentary and website design on the campus of the College of Santa Fe. The girls complete several independent projects as well as a group project, which are all shown at The Screen at the end of the program.
NMWIF made a Public Service Announcement for the Santa Fe Rape Crisis and Trauma Treatment Center.
