REAL. WORTHY. STORIES. Cash Prizes in 6 categories. The Tribute Film Festival primarily focuses on documentaries that reference historic events. Events include screenings of selected films in the Frontier Texas theater, a filmmaking seminar, social/networking events throughout downtown Abilene, and a festival gala at Frontier Texas to screen the award winning films on Saturday March 3, 2018.

Native American Doc Challenge
The Native American Doc Challenge is in partnership with Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and asks Native American and First Nations of Canada filmmakers to submit their short documentaries. This challenge is awarding a share of $5,500 in cash/prizes.

Docs Without Borders Film Festival (DWBFF) is a festival dedicated to DOCUMENTARIES and DOCU-DRAMAS ONLY (we are one of the few festivals with a separate category for Docu-dramas).

Women in Film and TV International (WIFTI) Short Film Showcase is a powerful demonstration of our members’ creativity, vision, and artistry. Founded in 2004, the Showcase presents selected films from Women in Film & TV International Chapters around the world; some of the recent Showcase short films have been nominated for Academy Awards received distribution deals and garnered other recognition globally. WIFTI encourages unique points of view and storytelling that focus on subjects/issues that concern women. The Short Film Showcase is for WIFTI Chapter Members only - please do not submit if you or your producer are NOT a member of a WIFTI Chapter.

Female Filmmakers Film Festival
Female filmmakers are invited to submit short fiction or non-fiction films 7 minutes or under to gain exposure and prizes to accelerate your careers. The top films are juried by industry professionals and premiere at AudFest in LA in the Spring of 2018. We are currently gathering sponsors and prizes. Last year, we awarded over $80K. Founded by a writer, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition’s passionate commitment to develop and discover the unknown screenwriter continues to define our work today. We provide each writer who enters BlueCat one written analysis while supporting screenwriters of all levels and stages of development with the constructive feedback all writers require. Our Winners and Finalists have been signed by major talent agencies like UTA, CAA and WME, sold their work to studios like Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal, and won major awards at the Sundance, Berlin and Tribeca Film Festivals, all after being discovered by and winning BlueCat.

BlueCat Short Film Festival
Our Short Film Festival has arrived! After 20 years of accepting scripts, BlueCat is proud to announce the launch of BlueCat’s Short Film Festival, with the winner for Best Short Film being awarded a $2500 cash prize! After carefully reviewing all of the submitted short films, we will name 5-10 shorts as finalists and will be screened at the Landmark Theatre in West Los Angeles on June 19th, 2018. The Winner will be announced the night of the festival. Students are welcome to submit, with discounted fees available to all work from young and developing filmmakers. We are excited to welcome and screen your short films in LA!

Santa Fe Network
SFN’s mission is to showcase local above-the-line talent, while also providing a platform to exhibit all kinds of content made in the Land of Enchantment. SFN embeds content hosted on Vimeo, YouTube, or any compatible video hosting service in order to offer free public access to stream content made by New Mexico media makers or projects filmed in the “Land of Enchantment.” SFN can either present the full length Media Project, or just a trailer (and a link to the full version on a 3rd party platform, like iTunes, Amazon or Netflix).
America Heard is a web series of short documentary films being created by filmmakers across the nation in the wake of the 2016 election. Our goal is to feature at least one film from each of the 435 congressional districts and show the diversity of political perspectives throughout the United States. We are looking for filmmakers to create short documentary films in their community, focused on building dialogue across the country.
